Markell Steele is the founder of Futures in Motion, Inc., which was established in 2002. Markell brings more than 12 years of experience in career strategy development, skill and interest assessment and counseling clients ranging from college students to managers building a life and career strategy.

As a career counselor, Markell helps clients identify and connect with satisfying jobs by providing comprehensive career planning and management services, including career assessment, action plan creation and implementation, resume consultation, and job search assistance. She has taught career planning and management classes for professionals evaluating their career paths.   She has been an invited speaker at various organizations including The Learning Annex, UCLA Alumni Career Services, Cal State Fullerton, UC Santa Barbara Alumni Association, HireRight, and Society for Women Engineers.

In 2005, Markell established an executive coaching program for the UCLA Anderson Executive Program. Markell and her team provide short-term coaching services to program participants who are interested in advancing their careers, exploring long-term career opportunities, transitioning into general management roles, perception management, and effective team management.

Markell’s educational background includes a Master of Education degree in Counseling from the University of San Diego (USD) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). She is a National Certified Counselor and has been trained as a Distance Credentialed Counselor. She also serves on the boards of NAWBO-OC and the UCSB Alumni Association. She is also a Mentorship Program Advisor for the Association for Women in Technology, Orange County Chapter.
